We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to sponsor The Celtic Foundation’s sporting dinner for the next two years.
Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of Celtic FC Foundation, said: “Ken Simpson of IBC Wealth has supported Celtic FC Foundation in a variety of ways, including volunteering for our overseas trip to Malawi last year. It’s wonderful to have IBC Wealth on board for the next two years as sponsor of our Annual Sporting Dinner, which is a key event within our fundraising calendar, and their support is invaluable.”

The Celtic Zambia Adventure 2020
Unfortunately due to the effect of Covid-19, this trip has been postponed, however, we are still actively fundraising and supporting this amazing cause.
Our Managing Director; Ken Simpson is a Celtic FC Foundation volunteer and will be taking part in their overseas trip to Zambia.
Ken will be spending 10 days providing practical support on the ground, through Celtic FC Foundation and the placement will involve the renovation/improvement of schools identified by Mary’s Meals, who provide life-changing meals to some of the world’s poorest children every school day. Ken has been tasked with raising a minimum of £1,000 in sponsorship to support the development work the volunteers will undertake in Zambia, Celtic FC Foundation’s 67 Kitchens project, in partnership with Mary’s Meals and also the Foundation’s projects supporting vulnerable children and adults at home.
At IBC, giving back is a major part of what makes our team tick, so we’re proud to have already supported the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail by sponsoring three of the Oor Wullie Statues through the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail is the first ever nationwide public art trail.
On from now until 30thAugust, it will culminate with a series of farewell events and nationwide auctions across its five host cities; Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness.
Funds raised through the challenge will support vital resources needed for Scotland’s children’s hospitals.
With over 200 statues placed across the five cities, it represents an exciting opportunity for families to get out there and explore Scotland, while supporting an incredibly important cause.
IBC is delighted to be a part of it
At IBC, giving back is a major part of what makes our team tick, so we’re proud to have already supported the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail by sponsoring three of the Oor Wullie Statues through the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Popcorn Wullie
The first statue we sponsored, was gifted to Emma and Emily. Twin sisters, at just 8 years old, the children’s hospital has already been an important part of their lives. Emily has spina bifida, scoliosis of the spine and hydronophrosis of her right kidney. She’s under four different surgeons and attends the hospital regularly. She’s had three big operations including spinal surgery, with her most recent operation in May last year. She has built up fantastic relationships with all her surgeons, especially ‘Dave’ (Mr Roland) who is definitely her favourite.
Emma and Emily took their sculpture to Crosshouse Primary School and called it Popcorn Wullie.
Created by Brooke Evans, the design was inspired by a love of watching films and eating popcorn on cinema trips with her family and friends. Her primary 5 classmates all pitched in to help her paint the sculpture and really bring it to life.
Oor Amelie
The second statue we sponsored, was gifted to Amelie who lives in Doune with her mum, dad, and twin brothers. Amelie was diagnosed with an aggressive tumour behind her eye in 2014, and has been treated in the Schiehallion ward in the years since. Amelie and her family are fantastic supporters of the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, and Amelie was one of the wee heroes who launched the Schiehallion Appeal in 2017.
Amelie took her sculpture to Doune Primary School and they called it Oor Amelie
The design was created by Primary Three and was inspired by Amelie.
Oor Cosmic Wullie
The third Oor Wullie we sponsored was gifted to the Royal Hospital for Children, in Ward 4, the Psychiatry Inpatient Unit.
Young people who are patients in Ward 4 in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow attend art classes provided by the Hospital Education Service. And the Oor Wullie project was a fun group activity that generated lots of super ideas. The young people finally agreed on designing a Cosmic themed Oor Wullie. The sculpture has been decorated with silver and metallic paints and Oor Wullie’s dungarees are covered in cosmic symbols; the moon, planets and stars. And he looks fabulous.
Oor Wullies Big Bucket Trail hits the streets of Glasgow on 17th June and is on until the end of August, with the three sponsored statues (amongst 200) placed in locations across Glasgow.
